Nascentric's OmegaSim™ privides at least a 10X or more runtime improvement over other Fast-SPICE engines. This incredible speed breakthrough overcomes traditional Fast-SPICE limitations associated with performance, capacity and accuracy.

Speed

Using patent-pending technology, OmegaSim performs up to 10X faster than other Fast-SPICE simulators and 1000X faster than traditional SPICE simulators. OmegaSim's intelligent transformation and efficient processing of devices (diodes, inductors, transistor, cells and interconnect) provide the performance needed to analyze large SoC designs in a minimum amount of time. OmegaSim is well suited to explore 'What-if" simulations, to optimize your designs and ultimately to achieve a faster path to working silicon.

Accuracy

To ensure SPICE-accurate simulation results, OmegaSim employs topology-aware circuit concepts to determine precise silicon behavior. SPICE-level accuracy is derived from meticulous modeling of transistors, complex devices, and hierarchical partitions in the design. These models are used in conjunction with industry-standard process models that enable accurate representations of Miller capacitance and the effects related to resistance, capacitance, and inductance on circuit performance.

Capacity

OmegaSim has the capacity to functionally simulate and certify designs for nanometer signoff. To ensure that design goals are met, large capacity is needed in functional simulations to confirm logic circuitry, verify block functionality, and validate boundary interfaces. From a signoff perspective, OmegaSim utilizes its capacity to enable confirmation of design timing goals, verify power management strategies, and validate signal integrity and electro-migration targets in the design.

Together, these speed, accuracy and capacity attributes enable Nascentric to step into a leadership role in the Fast-SPICE marketplace. With this leadership position, Nascentric is launching into other facets of design automation that encompasses analysis that will utilize our core technology.

Conquering Nanometer Effects

To analyze and manage nanometer effects, design teams must be able to assess the impact these nanometer effects have on current design. Some of the nanometer effects that can affect design teams are:

• Dramatic increases in the number of transistors adds to design complexity

• Smaller transistor sizes leads to more leakage currents and power consumption

• More pronounced non-linear transitions increases leakage currents

• Tighter cross-coupling induces noise and delay problems.
